Future Prof Series
Overview

These active learning-based workshops are typically 1.5 - 2 hours in length and are designed for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars who are seeking future roles as faculty, teaching staff, or other professional roles that involve formal or informal teaching in and outside of higher education. The workshops aim to provide valuable insights into teaching and teaching career-related strategies across the disciplines. The workshops in this series evolve each year to meet the current interests of graduate students and postdoctoral scholars as well as emerging trends, themes, or issues in teaching and learning.
The goals of the Future Prof Series are to
- Explore the issue, theme, or practice of the workshop
- Reflect on individual and collective teaching practices and approaches
- Apply workshop learning to current and future teaching roles in and beyond higher education
Future Prof Series & WCUTL
While graduate students and postdoctoral researchers are welcome to take individual FP workshops as they are needed and helpful, participants may also choose to receive credits towards completion of the Western Certificate in University Teaching and Learning.
WCUTL requires that participants complete 10 Future Prof credits.
You can track your FP credits towards the Certificate through Western Connect. For more information, please refer to the FAQ section.
