EDIDA Resources

Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Decolonization, and Accessibility (EDIDA) are core values at Western. In teaching and learning, this means creating learning experiences that acknowledge and value diverse identities, perspectives, and ways of knowing. It also means creating learning environments that reduce barriers and enable equitable participation for all learners.

Building more equitable learning environments is an ongoing process that requires a commitment to continuous learning, iterative change, and shared accountability. It is both a collective responsibility and a personal commitment to the work of learning and unlearning.

The resources below offer a starting point for developing engaging, inclusive, and accessible learning experiences that respond to the unique identities, experiences, and access needs of our learners and learner cohorts. These resources will equip the Western community with the tools, strategies, and sensibilities to embed EDIDA principles into our teaching and curriculum. This collection will continue to evolve in response to community needs and changing educational landscapes.
