Teaching in Large Classes

Teaching in large classes, which varies depending on your discipline and context but can range from 50 to over 1,000 students, brings its own set of considerations which instructors will need to adapt to in order to support student learning. Engaging students, assessing student work and maintaining universal design for learning (UDL) all come with their own challenges, but are just as important, when teaching large classes.

To support instructors with teaching in large classes, we have developed specific resources which offer strategies to support student learning in these contexts.

If you are interested in our series of synchronous online or in-person workshops on teaching and learning in large classes which will allow you to explore these topics in more detail, browse upcoming offerings here. If you would like individual support, please contact us for a consult: ctl@uwo.ca.
