Rapidly Moving Courses Online: Workshops and Webinars

Our Assessing Readiness for Rapidly Moving a Course Online chart can help you select an appropriate workshop or webinar.

Workshops will be offered in person. Webinars are offered live and will also be recorded and made available online.

Registration is capped for each session in order to enable social distancing. Please register in advance.

How to Register

  1. Login to Western Connect with your Western username and password.
  2. Go to the Centre for Teaching and Learning section and select Event Calendar.
  3. Search for and select the program or event. Details and a description of the program will appear.
  4. Select the Register for this Event button. If the event has reached capacity, you may have the option to register on the waitlist.
  5. Once you have successfully registered for an event, you will receive an automated confirmation email to your Western email account.

OWL Basic

This session will introduce participants to:

  • creating your course site in OWL
  • uploading content
  • leveraging tools such as “Resources”, “Assignments” and “Announcements” in OWL to rapidly move courses online.

This session will review the online capabilities of MS Word, MS OneDrive, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams. Participants will learn how to:

  • Share and collaboratively edit documents and presentations with students
  • Record lectures using PowerPoint
