Join us for Intro To Instruction on August 31st

Are you a new instructor at Western? We’ve designed a new event for you!

Intro to Instruction is a new full-day event on Thursday August 31, 2023 from 9:00AM to 4:00PM designed for full-time and part-time faculty members (including sessional instructors, adjunct professors, and lecturers) who are new to teaching at Western. This event introduces new Western instructors like you to teaching and learning strategies, resources, and policies to help you plan for a successful year of instruction at Western. 

We invite you to register today for this event. You can choose to attend in person, or stream it live online. 

Registration gives you access to:

  • a day of live presentations, panel discussions, and interactive sessions
  • a boxed lunch (if you join us in person!)
  • an OWL site featuring relevant resources including eLearning modules, videos, handouts, and further reading. 

Topics will include:

  • important dates and deadlines during the academic year
  • key policies that guide exams, student conduct, and assessment of student performance
  • case studies of classroom management, academic integrity, and ethics
  • academic technologies, and eLearning support at Western
