Winter Generative AI Challenge
The GenAI Challenge returns Monday, January 26th!
In our third series of the Generative AI Challenge, we will hear from 10 Western University faculty, librarians, researchers, students, and staff. Each challenger will focus on a different topic of interest or concern, including agency, privacy, the impact of generative AI on thinking and learning, and non-Western ethical approaches to AI.
The goal of the Generative AI Challenge remains the same: building your own awareness of different aspects of generative AI to inform your decisions around adoption. I hope that our newest round of challenges informative and though-provoking.
Missed out on our earlier series?
All previous challenges can be accessed on the Challenge Hub. Our Fall 2025 challenges spanned a wide range of topics, from unpacking what “intelligence” really means to exploring the integration of generative AI into course materials to highlighting the importance of keeping the human-in-the-loop. Challengers also discussed the impact of generative AI on the environment, research, the workplace, scholarly publishing, and the pedagogical relationship.
Want to stay up to date?
You may sign up for weekly emails here. Or follow along by visiting the Generative AI Challenge blog here. There may be opportunities to engage in discussion or share your thoughts, but there are no submissions of challenge activities.
Please reach out to ctl@uwo.ca if you have any questions about the series. Otherwise, we look forward to challenging you!
